New for 2013. Free admission to Eden Camp.....
As well as our existing "Specially Hungate" offers like free swimming and free admission to Dalby Forest, we are delighted to announce that we are now offering free admission to the wonderful Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum at nearby Malton. The Eden Camp offer applies to all guests staying at our cottages for a week or more. On arrival at the cottages we will give you a "2 for the price of 1" voucher redeemable during your stay with us. Keep the receipt from Eden Camp and we will refund the cost when you leave.
Many of you have been asking for the dates of the Pickering Traction Rally this year. It's on the 1st to 4th August at the Showground.
Pickering 60s Festival
12th to 16th June. The Pickering 60s Festival event is held over 5 days of which the main attraction is live sixties music from both headline and local bands. Other activities include a parade of classic sixties vehicles, fancy dress, period hairstyling, memorabilia stalls, kiddies rides and much more. During the evening on each day of the event there is a local 60s tribute band in each Public House in Pickering. Simply pick your place and carry on the celebrations into the following morning.
North York Moors Railway
Full services start on 23rd March 2013. Our friends at NYMR are celebrating their 40th Anniversary this year. There will be lots of special events in May and throughout the rest of the year. Details at NYMR at 40. Some highlights:
13th and 14th July. Classic Cars and Vintage Vehicles. Enjoy a weekend recalling motoring memories with vehicle displays at Pickering, Levisham and Grosmont. Live bands at Levisham and Goathland.
20th July to 1st September. Summer Fun Trails and Story Trains. Every Friday. Themed story trains including a Hobbit, Hagrid, Pirate and Alice in Wonderland.
27th to 29th September. 40th Anniversary Autumn Steam Gala.

Pickering Town Guided Walks
Every Monday from 10.30 to 12.00 noon or later finish, starting May 6 to October 28. Guided walks and talks around Pickering's historical centre, with a duration of at least one and a half hours. Your friendly guide will try to answer any questions. Additional - dedicated guided walks can be arranged for groups of six or more persons. Please make special arrangements through Pickering Tourist Information Centre.
Beck Isle Museum

Eden Camp

Fabulous sporting events coming to North Yorkshire .....
The first ever York Marathon will be held on 20th October 2013. This will be a major event in the area bringing thousands of competitors and visitors to North Yorkshire. Only 2 cottages left for week commencing 19th October.
An even bigger event will be the "Grand Depart" of the 2014 Tour de France on 5th and 6th July 2014 which has been awarded to Yorkshire. Le Tour departs from Leeds on the 5th July and heads for Harrogate via the Yorkshire Dales. On the 6th July the event starts in York and heads for Sheffield.
